Last Second Goal Pushes Rochester over Golden Rams

Last Second Goal Pushes Rochester over Golden Rams

The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Soccer team played toe-to-toe with Rochester on Saturday, before a last second goal lifted the Yellowjackets over the Golden Rams 2-1.

Rochester struck first in the 23rd minute before Anoka-Ramsey answered with a goal from Sierra Dehmer in the 29th minute to tie the score.

The teams traded attacking chances thru the rest of the game, before Rochester scored in the final seconds for the win.

Aryanna Jiron had 15 saves in goal for the Golden Rams.

"The game definitely had some shifts in momentum over the 90 minutes, so it made for an exciting game," said head coach Tim Notz.  "Our defense made a ton of good stops in the penalty box throughout the game, and we were able to build better attacking chances in the second half.  It was disappointing to lose to a goal in the final seconds of the game, so we have to learn from that and regroup before Wednesday's rematch at home."

The Golden Rams drop to 1-4 overall, and will host Rochester on September 29 at 3:30pm.
