Golden Rams Drop Road Contest to Riverland

The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Basketball team, short-handed by three players including leading scorer Demaiyah Hill, fell 64-55 at Riverland on Saturday afternoon for their first conference defeat of the season.

The Golden Rams shot just 30 percent overall and 6 of 24 from three-point range while Riverland made 21 of 48 shots (43.8 percent) and 8 of 16 threes.

Anoka-Ramsey started slow in falling behind 19-5 after the first quarter and could never fully recover despite outscoring Riverland 39-30 in the second half.

Hailey Babcock scored 21 points on 7 of 16 shooting to lead the Golden Rams.

Piper Flemming knocked down three three-pointers and finished with 11 points.

CeCe Bell chipped in nine points.

Anoka-Ramsey falls to 10-2 overall, 1-1 in the MCAC Southern Division and will host Ridgewater on Wednesday, January 12 at 5:30pm.
