The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Basketball team beat Rainy River 73-59 thanks in part to tough defense on Saturday afternoon in International Falls.

The Golden Rams held the Voyageurs to just 24.4 percent shooting en route to the win.

After a tight first quarter, the Golden Rams pulled away in the second and third periods, outscoring Rainy River 35-18 over that stretch.

Balanced scoring was also key for Anoka-Ramsey with four players in double figures.

Demaiyah Hill and Mikayla Kanenwisher each had 15 points.

Hailey Babcock added 14 points, and CeCe Bell scored 13 points.

Natiya Smith led the team with nine rebounds.

The Golden Rams remain unbeaten at 6-0 and ranked #3 in the NJCAA DIII poll.

Anoka-Ramsey hosts their Holiday Classic on December 18-19 with four men's games and four women's games over the two days.  The Golden Rams will host Bismarck State on Saturday at 5pm, followed by Bay College on Sunday at 2:00pm.
