This train keeps on rolling as the #8 ARCC Golden Rams swept #6 St. Cloud CTC Cyclones by the scores of 8-0 in 5-innings and 9-4.
With this sweep, the Golden Rams move into 1st place in the MCAC Southern Division. Anoka-Ramsey is now 30-9 (10-0) and currently riding a 24 game winning streak.
Game one saw the Golden Rams jump on the Cyclones early and never look back. Emma Bright led off with a triple down the left field line, followed by a walk to Emma Hurd. Hailey Babcock then laced a double off the fence in right center field scoring both runners for a 2-0 lead after one inning.
ARCC would score two more times in the bottom of the 2nd when Maggie Kohl was hit by a pitch and Bright launched her 1st of two HRs over the left center field fence for a 4-0 lead.
Not done scoring, the Golden Rams would put up three more runs in the bottom of the third inning when Babcock led off with a single and Maddie Bottineau sat back on a change-up and crushed a 2-run home run to left field. This would be followed up by the next batter Molly Gross who would hit a solo home run to center field for a 7-0 lead after three innings.
The team would tack on their final run in the bottom of the 4th inning when Bright would hit her 2nd HR of the game for their final run. Gross was once again outstanding in the circle striking out six and only allowing two hits to pick up her 12th win of the season.
Game two saw the Cyclones strike first putting up two runs in the top of the 1st inning to take the quick 2-0 lead after one inning.
The Golden Rams would tie the game in the bottom of the 2nd inning when the bottom of the batting order came up huge. Gross led off with a single, followed by a RBI double produced by Alyssa Meadows off the right center field fence, and another RBI double by Kohl to tie the score 2-2 after two innings.
St. Cloud came right back and scored another two runs in the top of the 3rd inning to take the 4-2 lead, but this was short lived as Anoka-Ramsey would answer and score five more runs of their own to take the lead at 7-4 after 3 innings of play.
Hurd hit a solo home run followed by two hit batters, and then the hitting combo again of Gross, Meadows, and Kohl would all get hits and drive in the other four runs of the inning.
The Golden Rams would tack on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on hits by Hurd, Lyla Galli, Bottineau, and Gross. Bottineau picked up her 8th win of the season in ten starts while striking out six and keeping the Cyclone hitters off balance.
