Win Streak Extends to Sixteen Games

The #9 NJCAA Division III ranked Anoka-Ramsey Softball team keeps on winning with a 7-3 win over the Northwestern JV last night to run their winning streak to 16 games.

The game was tied 0-0 heading into the top of the 4th inning when Emma Bright laid down a perfect bunt single and stole 2nd & 3rd base. Emma Hurd then scored Bright with an RBI single for the game's first run.

Hurd then scored on an error off Hailey Babcock's ground ball to short. Maddie Bottineau would then single in Babcock for the Golden Ram's third run of the inning. Northwestern would tie the game up with two runs in the fourth and one run in the fifth inning.

With the game all tied 3-3 heading into the top of the 6th inning, the Golden Rams would score three runs to put the game away. Hurd, Lyla Galli, and Bottineau all had hits in the inning, with Galli, Bottineau, and Alyssa Meadows each driving in a run.

Anoka-Ramsey would tack on a run in the 7th inning to get the result. Galli would pick up her 8th win of the season with all three pitchers being used to get some work in.

The Golden Rams are now 22-9 (4-0 T-1st place, MCAC Southern Division) on the season.

Next up for the squad, weather permitting, is their 1st home doubleheader on Saturday, April 15, against the Lady Jays of Minnesota West. Anoka-Ramsey has a very busy schedule next week with 10 games in six days.
