The Anoka-Ramsey Softball team traveled to Rochester to compete in the MCAC Crossover, and the Golden Rams came home undefeated going a perfect 4-0.
The Golden Rams opened the Crossover defeating MCAC Southern Division foe MN West by a score of 21-0 in 5 innings. Molly Gross pitched yet another shutout while throwing her 1st career no-hitter with 8 K's.
Offensively, the Golden Rams pounded out 21 hits with many offensive stars. Emma Bright had 4 hits including back-to-back HR's with 6 RBI's. Maddie Bottineau, Alyssa Meadows, Olivia Thomas, and Gross all contributed 3 hits apiece.
The second game of the day saw the team square off against a tough Itasca Vikings team. The Vikings took a 2-1 lead heading into the bottom of the 5th when Anoka-Ramsey's bats woke up producing seven runs on seven hits. The Golden Rams would add two more runs in the bottom of the 6th inning on four consecutive hits too end the game via the 8-run rule 10-2.
Hailey Babcock and Lyla Galli each 3 hits and 2 RBI's. Galli also pitched, picking up her 6th win of the season scattering nine hits while only allowing one earned run.
Saturday morning saw the Golden Rams face the Raiders from Central Lakes for the 4th time this season with the result being the same as the previous three. An 8-0, 5-inning win for ARCC. The offensive machine for the team was freshman Thomas who went a perfect 3-3 with a home run and 4 RBI's.
Gross pitched her 4th consecutive shut-out running her scoreless streak to 23 innings while striking out 10.
The final game of the crossover saw Anoka-Ramsey defeat Rainy River 12-2 in five innings. Bottineau was terrific in the circle striking out nine while only allowing three huts and one earned run. Three different players had two hits: Emma Hurd, Bright, and Thomas.
The Golden Rams are now 17-9 riding an 11-game winning streak. During the streak, Anoka-Ramsey has outscored their opponents 126-10. The team will finally open MCAC Southern Division play this Friday night, April 7, against Riverland in Austin, and Saturday, April 8, against RCTC in Austin. All games will be played at the Wescott Dome in Austin.
