The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team began the season with a 90-71 win over Gogebic on Friday afternoon.
Five Golden Rams scored double figues led by Josiah Remus-Ford who had 20 points, 18 in the first half, while shooting 8 of 10 from the field including 3 for 3 from the three-point line.
Elijah Mead scored 13 points on 6 of 11 shooting, with Ontario Chapman scoring 12, Isaiah Woodstock with 11, and Terrell Fountain with ten.
Chapman led the Golden Rams with eight rebounds, and Jacob Say led the team with five assists.
Anoka-Ramsey shot 50.7 percent overall and made nine threes to just two for the Samsons.
The Golden Rams were scheduled to play Madison on Saturday but the game was cancelled due to COVID-19 safety protocols. A make-up date has not yet been determined.
Anoka-Ramsey hosts Twin Cities rival Dakota County Tech on Wednesday, November 17 at 7:00pm.
