The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball team picked up an 86-79 win at Riverland Community College in their final regular season game of the season Saturday.
The Golden Rams opened up an early ten point lead, but an offensive drought allowed Riverland to storm back and take a 12 point lead midway thru the half.
Anoka-Ramsey managed to chip away at the deficit and went into the half down six.
An extended second half run by the Golden Rams built a 20 point lead with eight minutes to go.
Riverland used an 8-0 to trim the deficit to 12, then continued to get trim the deficit pulling with three points late in the game.
Some key free throws and defensive stops sealed the win for the Golden Rams.
Anoka-Ramsey was led by Edvonte Copeland who poured in 25 points.
Collin Price scored 16 points.
Mahad Haji chipped in with 11 points, and Falmata Tula scored ten.
Anoka-Ramsey finishes the regular season 16-11, 8-6 in the MCAC Southern Division.
They have secured the #4 seed from the South and will face #1 seed from the North Vermilion Community College in the Region XIII quarterfinals on Friday, February 26 at 4:00pm.
All tournament games will be held on the Coon Rapids campus of Anoka-Ramsey with game times slated for 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm.
