The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball team put together their best defensive performance of the season in routing Itasca Community College 84-45 on Friday evening in Grand Rapids, MN.

The Golden Rams trailed 8-7 early in the contest, but ran away with the game from there.

A putback dunk by Falmata Tula just before the first half buzzer gave the Golden Rams a 42-25 lead at halftime.

The Golden Rams quickly pushed the lead over 20 points early in the second and didn't let up the rest of the way.

Tula scored all 15 of his points in the first half knocking down three three-point field goals to go with a game-high 12 rebounds in recording his third double-double of the season.

Tyler Matsen came off the bench to score 18 points shooting 6 of 7 from the field including 3 of 4 from the three-point line.

Mahad Haji score 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting.

The Golden Rams bench accounted for 54 of the team's 84 points on the night.

Itasca managed just 23.5 percent shooting including 5 of 35 (14.3 percent) in the second half.

The Golden Rams improve to 4-4 on the season.
