Baseball begins season with games at US Bank Stadium and in Iowa

The Anoka-Ramsey Baseball team began their season March 2 with games at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, splitting their doubleheader with MN North Itasca.

The Golden Rams fell 10-8 in the first game, narrowly missing a big comeback with a five-run bottom of the seventh.

Six players recorded a hit in the game, with Cole Swift going 1 for 2 with three runs scored.  Collin Tollefson had two RBI.

Swift, Ramon Perez, and Carson Shaver each had a double at the plate.

Game two saw Anoka-Ramsey put up double digit runs in a 14-3 win.

Andrew Pieh scattered five hits over three innings while striking out four to get the win.

Shaver pitched two innings, giving up one earned run and striking out two batters.

Offensively, Caden Johnson went 3 for 3 at the plate.

Perez and Tollefson each went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI apiece.  Brett Leabch was 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored.

Anoka-Ramsey travelled to Iowa to face Southeastern on March 9 and fell 18-7, 14-7 in the doubleheader.

Next up is their spring trip to Florida March 14-16 where the team will play six games.
