Riverland Picks Up Two Wins over Golden Rams

Game 1: Riverland 5 - Anoka-Ramsey 3

Anoka-Ramsey Community College stayed in it until the end, but Riverland pulled away late in a 5-3 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at three with Riverland batting in the top of the seventh when Hayden Siebers singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Anoka-Ramsey got on the board in the first inning when Zach Ziesmer drove in two on a single.

The Golden Rams evened things up at three in the bottom of the sixth inning when Wil Goodin doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Maxwell Schumacher got the win for Riverland. The hurler surrendered three runs on five hits over six innings, striking out seven. John Travieso threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Dan Foley took the loss for the Golden Rams. The southpaw lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing ten hits and five runs while striking out eight.

Goodin, Hunter SmithBrandon Watkins, Ziesmer, and Tyler Traphagen each collected one hit to lead Anoka-Ramsey.

 

Game 2: Riverland 7 - Anoka-Ramsey 2

Even though Anoka-Ramsey Community College collected nine hits to Riverland's eight, they still fell 7-2 on Saturday.  The Golden Rams defense let them down allowing four unearned runs on the day.

The Golden Rams opened up scoring in the second inning when Wil Goodin singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Riverland took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Riverland's Tyler Nelson singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Riverland scored three runs in the sixth inning. Drew Copley and Andrew Wedwick each had RBIs in the frame.

Hayden Siebers earned the victory on the mound for Riverland. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing two runs on nine hits, striking out three and walking one.

Nate Tillman took the loss for the Golden Rams. The righty surrendered four unearned runs on six hits over four innings, striking out three.

Anoka-Ramsey tallied nine hits on the day. Brydon HegartyPatrick Perreault, and Goodin each managed multiple hits for the Golden Rams. Goodin, Perreault, and Hegarty each collected two hits to lead the team.
