Cole Benson Signs with Viterbo University

Today, the Anoka-Ramsey Athletic Department announces that sophomore catcher, Cole Benson, has signed a letter of intent with Virterbo University for the 2020 season.

Cole will continue his work towards a degree in Sports Management and play baseball.

Anoka-Ramsey's Head Baseball Coach, Jason Saulsbury, comments "We are extremely proud of Cole's accomplishments.  He has been a rock for us.  His leadership with our pitching staff and the rest of the team has been second to none.  He has been a two-year starter for us; playing a position that is so critical to the success of our team.  It has brought me pure joy to watch how he has developed and thrived here at Anoka-Ramsey.  He has become one of the top catchers in the MCAC.  I am excited for his future, because I know he will do great things.  Virterbo is getting an absolute gem!"

Cole was an MCAC All-Southern Division and All-State player for Anoka-Ramsey as a freshman, where be batted .381, with an .500 OBP and 7 RBI's.  This season Cole is currently hitting .452, with an .526 OBP and 20 RBI's.

The Golden Rams end their regular season this Friday, May 10th, with a double-header match-up with Southern Division rival Riverland Community College.  The games will be at Wintercrest, with the first pitch scheduled for 2 pm.
